Does rain make you crave tea? because all this rain has left me wanting a good cup of tea all week.
Yes, you guys, even I take a break from coffee every once in awhile for a delicious cup of tea; especially if the tea is good for my body AND loved by my favorite little person in the world.
I’m still working through my bag of lemons (soon they will be juiced and frozen in ice cube trays) and discovered a sneaky little knob of ginger hiding under the piles of fresh produce I picked up from the market this morning. With a new series of storms on the way, lemon ginger tea is just want we need to get through.
Besides, Octavian and I can always use an immune boost; after all, the gym and gym daycare are not known for their cleanliness. Oh ya, and it’s flu season and Octavian hasn’t been sick for three weeks, so the next illness is coming any day now. But I digress…
This tea is not only nice to drink, it’s also good for you. And this tea is VERY good for you.
Immune boosting, helps relieve nausea and vomiting (ginger is good for the tummy!) and it’s a great mood lifter (which is just what I NEED on this gloomy day).

Lemon Ginger Tea
- 4 cups water
- 1 large lemon (sliced)
- 2 inch piece of ginger (peeled and thinly sliced)
- Honey (for serving (optional))
- In a small pot over high heat, bring 4-5 cups of water to a boil. Once boiled, remove from heat and add the sliced lemon and ginger to the pot, stir. Allow the lemon and ginger to steep for approximately 20 minutes or so before straining. Serve with honey, if desired.
