This time last week we were driving down to Los Angeles to stay with my family for Christmas. I was a nervous wreck about the car ride, but my child surprised us and was basically perfect the entire drive down. In fact, I’m pretty sure my husband complained the most. Next time, rather than packing an activity bag filled with games, books and snacks for my toddler, I will be sure to pack one for my husband instead. I do believe part of Octavian’s amazing behavior may have been because he was allowed to hold all FOUR of his lovies (plus his car lovie) which we usually always leave at home.
We spent our time playing at the beach, visiting with family and, of course, eating delicious food. I was even lucky enough to steal some time away from my mommy-obsessed child to get a manicure (it’s been over a year) and go wedding dress shopping with my sister for her upcoming wedding in August!
Octavian must have been a really good boy this year because Santa spoiled him rotten. Oh the trains and books and… trampoline (thanks Aunty Jen-Jen!); it will be enough to keep him busy for a whole 2.5 minutes.
Despite waking up with a cold on Christmas morning and making all sleepy times impossible, Octavian had a blast. But, who wouldn’t love running around on the beach chasing after seagulls, climbing on big choo-choos with Grandpa and getting the entire toy store in one morning?
