Prior to having my son I never put much thought into breakfast. Fast forward to motherhood and mornings look a whole lot different. A whole lot crazier. Overnight oats have been a real lifesaver. And these overnight oats with yogurt are one of my favorite ways to enjoy this awesome and healthy breakfast. Easy, no-cook, meal-prep friendly, the whole family loves them! The yogurt adds extra protein and awesome creaminess.
Transfer the rolled oats, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit (I added strawberries), chia seeds, and sweetener to a bowl and mix well to combine.
Divide and transfer the combined oats and yogurt to individual single-serve mason jars. Layer with fresh fruit and jam, if desired.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or seal the jars with a tight-fitting lid. Transfer to the refrigerator for 4-12 hours, or until the oats are softened, chewy, and thickened.
I usually just put them in jars if I’m trying something new, need a few ready and available as a grab-and-go snack or lunch, or if I know people are coming over for breakfast and I don’t feel like cooking.
