Bubble tea, a Taiwanese tea-based beverage, was invented in the 1980s by Ms. Lin Hsiu Hui of Chun Shui Tang Tea Shop in Taichung. It is believed she invented the drink by randomly incorporating fen yuan into her iced tea.
