Preheat the oven to 375°F. In one bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon. In another, whisk together butter, eggs, sugar, buttermilk, nutmeg, and applesauce.
Add grated apples, then blend in the dry ingredients. Transfer the batter into a ziplock bag, snip a corner, and squeeze into a greased donut hole pan. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
While baking, combine sugar and cinnamon, and melt butter. Once baked, let the donuts cool for 5-10 minutes, then brush with melted butter and coat in the cinnamon-sugar topping. Enjoy!
