Scrub each potato under cold running water and dry completely. Carefully poke each potato with a fork all over, at least 6-8 times.
Rub the entire surface of the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle generously with coarse sea salt (add more or less to taste).
Spray the inside basket of the air fryer with non-stick cooking spray. Place the potatoes on the inside of the air fryer basket in an even layer.
Air fry at 400°F for 30 minutes. Flip and continue to cook for an additional 20 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a knife through the thickest part of the potato (if it's fully cooked, a fork or knife will easily slide through the middle of the potato). If more time is needed, continue to cook, checking for doneness every 10-15 minutes.
Carefully remove fully cooked baked potatoes using cooking tongs or oven mitts. Enjoy served with all of your favorite toppings.
- Total cooking time: The total cooking time will vary greatly, so use the time provided as an estimate. Larger, fatter potatoes will take longer to cook, so if you're looking for faster-cooking air fryer baked potatoes, try to purchase smaller russet potatoes.
- Storage: Keep leftover potatoes stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
