Breakfast Quinoa Recipe

This amazing quinoa breakfast bowl is the perfect healthy breakfast idea. Loaded with sweetness from the fresh fruit and nutty flavor from the almonds, this recipe is one of my favorite ways to use up leftover cooked quinoa. It’s far more satisfying than any sugary boxed breakfast cereal, as quinoa is a complete protein and will keep you full for hours.

The toppings are the best part, and there are plenty to choose from – coconut flakes, hemp seeds, peanut butter, almond butter, banana slices, a drizzle of maple syrup, brown sugar, and pumpkin seeds – just to name a few.

Quinoa may seem like an unconventional breakfast, but trust me, the fluffy texture and boost in energy will have you coming back for more!

Should You Soak Quinoa Before Cooking?

Soaking your quinoa before cooking is a good idea – if you can. Soaking helps to rinse the quinoa of saponin, a compound in its natural coating that makes it taste more bitter.

How to Serve

Once prepared, breakfast quinoa is best served immediately. You can enjoy it on its own or with a side of additional fruit, granola, a pastry, or a smoothie/juice.

Storage and Freezing

This quick and easy breakfast quinoa is best enjoyed right away. Leftover cooked quinoa can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
