the day after the fiance arrived,
I knew I had to take him on a little bike ride.
since my first bike ride a couple weeks ago,
i’ve become a bit obsessed.
for real.
obsessed.
I ask the kids every afternoon if they want to go out,
you know, get out of the house and go for a ride somewhere.
they always say no.
me, on the other hand-
i’m always up for a ride from one village to another.
it’s great exercise,
and, honestly, the views are always guaranteed to be spectacular.

while the fiance was visiting,
we went on two bike rides while the kids were at school.

next time he visits,
we will spend an entire day riding from one village to another.
there are bike trails from here to Austria,
so, we’ll see how far we get.

some of you may be thinking,
this girl is crazy. it’s just a bike ride.
let me tell you one thing i’ve learned since moving to germany-
biking in Europe is different.
biking trails are just as important as the roads,
only, the views are better.
biking can be for fun or as a serious sport.

biking is a way of life.

america is missing out on something pretty big.
i don’t know what i’ll do when I return back to the US-
the world of only cars, minivans, and SUVs.

bash on america is now over…

An empty park bench sitting in front of a mountain

the fiance is hooked too.
at least i’m not the only one…

Happy Friday everyone!
I can’t wait to sleep past 630am,
and get some serious blogging done.
oh, and spend a little time outside,
on a bike, of course.

i just hopped on a bike for the first time in about 7 years this weekend. it was awesome! i borrowed the bike and now i really want one for myself. i want to just put away my car for the summer and bike everywhere – its so cheap and so good for the health! plus i live in a small place so nothing is super far away, even on a bike.

    keep enjoying. x

What beautiful pictures! The rest of Europe is much better with bike paths than we are in England, I think. I'd be happier for my kids to be out on their bikes if we had them here!

When you come back to America, you'll just have to move to a big biking town! I know there have to be at least a few out there, right??

I just spent the past 20ish minutes catching up on your blog. Life has been so busy I felt like I needed to catch up on your travels! Looks like you are enjoying yourself! PS. When did you go to Nepal? I'd love to hear more about that! xo

Pahah, they have those pullup bars in the forest next to our house, and Mike and I go out there and play on them sometimes… because we're awesome and like to pretend we're five.
And I know what you mean about biking here. It makes me wish that, instead of putting my nice bike in storage in the US, I had paid to bring it here with me.

At least have the decency to post a picture of me at the top of the pull up bar!
