The main sight in wurzberg is the fortress marienberg.
built in 704 A.D., this fortress is now a park and museum open to the public.
resting on top of a hill,
it can be seen from nearly everywhere in wurzberg.
Honestly,
the park encircling this fortress is lovely,
and contains spectacular views of the entire city.
the walk up to the fortress was my favorite part about this entire city.

The wurzberg residence is the other must-see structure.
built in the french style,
it is known for its grand staircase, chapel, and salon.
the exterior of the palace is stunning
(although, I have yet to make it to France, so I have little to compare)

Although I did not go inside,
the exterior and gardens are beautiful.
I took my time walking around,
snapped some photos,
and paused for a few minutes to just sit on a bench,
and imagine what it would have been like to live in such a grand building…
honestly, I can’t.
imagine.
but, I do confess that I have always been a little obsessed with the idea of being royalty a few centuries ago.
but, mostly because of the gowns and fashion.
