Another relaxing weekend-
hanging out, biking and hiking
second in a row where I did not travel anywhere new.

Friday afternoon I went on a little bikeride around my village,
and bought a yummy new tea,
green fig.
I wasted more time watching breaking bad (seriously great show),
and discovered a new favorite-
pasta sauce with broccoli.

A large green field with trees in the background

Saturday the sky was blue and the sun was shining.
hallelujah.
I’m learning these perfect days are numbered here in Germany,
unlike California, where they are plentiful and expected.
I soaked it in with a 3 hour bike ride and 3 hour hike in the mountains behind my house.

Saturday was also the Super Bowl of Europe.
And, this year, Germany was one of the players.
Unfortunately, we lost.
My host family had some friends over and celebrated the game and weather with grilled burgers.
They asked how I make them back home.
I admit, I couldn’t answer.
Burgers are not my thing-
I was a vegetarian prior to the move (and, oddly enough, has been the hardest adjustment since being here).
They were completely confused when I declined having one for dinner.
Am i not american?
How could I not want a cheeseburger?

I’ll be honest, the last thing I want is a burger.
I would gladly accept a salad, however.

Sunday, I did absolutely nothing.
except get chased and whipped by two 8-year-olds holding stinging nettle.
(in my defense, I had slippers on. It was hard to run without face-planting into the concrete)
It may have been in jest,
but I was less than thrilled the rest of the day when my arm stung.
I spent the rest of my afternoon recovering, in bed, eating and watching breaking bad.
(like I said, the show is pretty amazing)

My hormones have been a little off lately too,
so, I may be doing a little more unnecessary sulking than usual.
Anyone else suffer from out of control bitch hormones?
where one minutes you want to cry,
the next you want to rip off someones head,
all while wanting to eat everything in the refrigerator.
I have this problem,
and, I hate it.
so does the fiance.
but, it’s not my fault.
i swear.

Overall, it was a great weekend.

How was yours??

So excited you found your blog, because it led me to yours… which I now love! And I LOVE Breaking Bad. Hahah. I didn't realize until reading your About Me that you lived in Sac once upon a moon. I just moved to DC from there! Definitely keep in touch if you ever make your way back to VA/DC!

Vegetarisch in Deutschland?! Yikes that is a tough one! I totally feel ya on the nice days being numbered. Last July, my fiance and I went to visit my host family in Bavaria and I packed for the weekend what I was wearing at the time in Croatia. Duhhhhhhh me…it was freezing cold and I had to borrow a WINTER jacket from my host sis and shoes and all clothes basically. Oh Germany! Anyway sounds like a fun weekend!

I get that way too…your fiance needs to know that it really is ALLLLL woman who go through this! I tell my bf that all the time and in the past couple of months he has been a lot more tolerant. And I know what you mean by numbered days. They make me try to soak up every single day I can.

I love that you take weekly bike rides, where I am isn't really suited for bike riding, but if I was in Europe I would definitely take it up!
