No food today. Don’t worry, Octavian made up to you…
he picked you guys flowers.
Being serious though, my child has been all about flowers and giving flowers lately. The other afternoon, he noticed that his dad brought me home some unopened daffodils on his way home from work. My dear, sweet husband, is not a flower or gift giver. However, the past year he has started surprising me with little tiny bouquets of flowers. I started noticing a trend, however. I discovered that he was purchasing the cheapest bundle of flowers that Trader Joe’s was currently selling. Price doesn’t matter to me. Actually, it does. I would much rather my husband surprise me with flowers that cost $1 compared to $10.
Anyway, I digress…
So when Octavian saw the daffodils, I asked him who he would want to give flowers to? More specifically, I asked my child if he had any special friends at school that he would want to give flowers to?
My sweet sweet boy answered, I would give them to Nana!
You guys, my child loves his grandmother. So much so that after this gorgeous little hike through the wildflowers on Saturday he requested to sleepover at Nana’s house and then when he woke up at home on Monday morning he asked to go back to his grandmothers.
Umm, sorry kid, I birthed you and love you, too. So no.
But enough about that.
Let’s talk about California and the wildflowers. You guys, the flowers are bloomin’! And oh my, they’re a lovely sight. I found out about this pretty little hike through Outdoor Project and while it did get a little crowded, it was well worth it! I think we went the wrong way to a slightly smaller waterfall than the one shown, but it ended up being the perfect roundtrip distance for Octavian.
Located right outside of Oroville, Ca it was an easy place to locate and access. And, bonus! Dogs are permitted (which is HUGE!).
